Medical Receptionist

Description: We have an opening for a medical receptionist. Our clinics are fast-paced and busy, we are looking for an individual who is confident and capable to handle the reception position in a professional manner. Our patients are suffering from pain and may not always be courteous and friendly. Our receptionist provides customer service and secretarial support, including patient scheduling, appointments, confidential records, prepping patient charts, and filing. The receptionist is also responsible for the efficient operation of the front office. Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Responsibilities: Greeting, acknowledging and directing everyone who comes in the clinic, in a welcoming manner while being sensitive to each patient’s circumstances, needs and fears Checking in the patients, including assisting in filling out all required forms and insurance information so billing is completed and accurate Collecting co-pays at appointment time Answering telephones and scheduling appointments Make follow up appointment when patients leave and follow up with cancellations and no shows Screening incoming calls and routine calls; taking detailed messages such as patients name, date of birth, pharmacy name and number along with medications name, before forwarding to clinical staff and doctors Check fax machine and distributing faxes accordingly Maintaining and requesting supplies needed Maintaining the waiting room This is a great opportunity for the right person. Requirements: Medical Reception experience is preferred, but not necessary. High School Graduate Bi-Lingual Spanish preferred Willing and patience to learn Excellent telephone and customer service skills Ability to multi-task and handle extremely busy phones Basic knowledge of patient accounting and insurance systems Data entry and basic computer skills such as Excel, Word, and Outlook Must be able to adapt quickly to office routine and to work with frequent interruptions Knowledge in medical terminology and protocol preferred Knowledge of patients’ rights and medical-legal aspects for release of information (I.e., HIPAA guidelines) Must pay attention to detail, stay organized, be flexible and have good communication skills PI129173854
