Salon Receptionist

OverviewThe receptionist is the first and last person to be in contact with customers. The impression created by the receptionist is very important and strongly influences how customers feel about Moxie SUPERCUTS.The primary purpose/responsibility of the receptionist is to make sure the customer feels welcomed and comfortable, taking the role of the salons host or hostess. This is done by greeting our customers cheerfully and with enthusiasm, making them feel good from the moment they enter the salon and communicating with them while they wait. The receptionist also ensures customers are charged for all services and communicates any additional add-ons services.The receptionist knows exactly how the salon operates and has the ability to execute our Moxie Operating Principles and ensures customers are satisfied before leaving the salon.The receptionist should also have a thorough knowledge of the SUPERCUTS location, service menu, available retail, SuperCall & Mobile App program, Supercuts Unlimited Subscription program and hours of operation and be able to communicate this information to customers in person or on the phone. It is important for the receptionist to understand that the voice on the other end of the phone is a potential customer or applicant and it is important that the information is delivered cordially and clearly with a SMILE.Essential Functions* Greet every customer immediately in a warm, friendly manner and check them in* Answer phones, speaking clearly and confidently* Inform customers on how to make a reservation via Open Salon, MobileApp, online check-in, and calling ahead* Assist customers with any questions they may have about purchasing products and suggest additional services Moxie offers* Operate the POS, accept payment, give change and provide receipts.* Provide an accurate estimated wait time and encourage customers to wait or return as appropriate* Asks the customer how their service was and listens attentively to any concerns, complaints or positive feedback and seeks manager assistance as necessary.* Assists with sanitation of stylist tools and follows all sanitation procedures required by the State Board.* Keeps the reception area, desk, windows, product shelves and floor clean when not serving customers* Keeps up on laundry* Assist with product inventory, pricing, stocking, and dusting when needed* Balance Till at the beginning and end of each shiftQUALIFICATIONS* Professional appearance- Since customers form impressions about the professionalism of the staff by evaluating employee appearance, a receptionist’s hairstyle and coloring, makeup, jewelry, nails and overall demeanor should represent the beauty industry favorably.* Outgoing/Animated/Confident Personality- Because the receptionist makes the first contact with each customer, it is vital that this person be warm and friendly. This position requires a person who truly enjoys working with people.* Good communication skills- The ability to explain services, product lines, hours of operation, and to listen effectively to customers is critical to this position.* Professional phone manner- Whether or not a potential customer eventually comes in often depends upon the receptionists ability to effectively communicate over the telephone. Good Voice tone and the ability to articulate on the telephone are vital.* Good at multitasking and organization* Cash Management Skills* Reliability- Receptionist must be prompt and consistent in their performancePhysical Requirements and Work Environment:* Lifting up to 10 lbs. to pick up bottles of product needed to perform hair services and stock retail shelves. Occasional lifting 10-25 lbs. to assist unloading monthly shipment of products.* Standing throughout the day to perform salon receptionist services and other job related functions.* Continuous walking.* Continuous repetitive movement with fingers, hands, wrists and arms using POS/data entry.* Continuous reaching, at or above shoulder level and above shoulder level height to stock shelves, retrieve product/supplies from cupboards and shelves* Continuous exposure to various chemicals and fragrances.* Occasional climbing of ladder/step stool to stock shelves, retrieve products, change bi-monthly collateral, and maintain salon.
