Bitwise is looking for a Special Projects Designer to manage special creative projects ensuring they specifically meet the needs of the CEO. Based on the established brand of Bitwise Industries (BWI) by the Creative Director, your role will be to define the requirements for each particular project assigned by the CEO. CEO will give direction on needs including layout structure. Special Projects Designer has flexibility on design (within brand standards), however this is a great need for problem solving throughout the project process as revisions are required. This includes visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts and photos. You’ll shape the visual aspects of all assigned projects including but not limited to informational one sheets, presentation decks, summary reports, etc.

Your designs should focus on the target audience (i.e. investors, partners, government, etc.) for each individual project as conveyed by the CEO. For this, you need a strong ability to translate requirements into design working very closely with the CEO to finalize pieces. You should have an eye for detail and project management experience, as you will be managing projects all the way through from start to finish.

This is a unique opportunity within the organization to not only work directly with the CEO but also on an on-call basis as projects arise. Oftentimes this means that projects come to light very quickly with tight turnaround times so the candidate should have open availability to accommodate the unpredictable nature of the requests.


    • Regularly meet with CEO and determine requirements of each special project
    • Schedule projects
    • Define resources needed to complete projects
    • Conceptualize visuals based on requirements and prepare rough drafts
    • Clearly present ideas to CEO in timely manner
    • Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand
    • Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
    • Work with copywriters and Creative Director to produce final design as needed
    • Quickly iterate on designs after feedback
    • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing, on-brand and on-time



    • Designing experience of 5+ years
    • Strong concepting skills
    • Resourceful in pulling illustrations, creating sketches to convey concepts as needed, and ability to communicate ideas or thoughts in a concise manner (working directly with CEO requires efficiency)
    • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud products such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc. and have ability to work in Google products such as Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc.
    • A keen eye for aesthetics and details – the ability to display font hierarchy, visual priority on text heavy designs, and consistency to stay on-brand
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to take feedback in stride, with the ultimate goal to deliver high quality projects to the CEO
    • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
