Wellpath: Dental Hygienist


This is a Full-time position in Fresno, CA posted January 17, 2021.

Our talented, compassionate team thrives in an autonomous environment, is empowered and supported by education, training and the resources to practice healthcare the way it is meant to be and strives to ” Always Do The Right Thing!” Under direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Program Manager (PM), or higher medical professional, the promotes dental health by completing dental therapy; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act.

Education: Graduate from an accredited school Experience: Two (2) years’ experience Previous correctional/detention facility experience Five (5) years’ experience Licenses/Certifications Unrestricted current Dental Hygiene license, certification or registration in state of practice must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc.

Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA Current (and must maintain) lifesaving ACLS certification through AHA * Prepares treatment room for persons served by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols * Provides information to persons served and employees by answering questions * Maintains instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing instruments * Selects materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating persons served oral health * Educates patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions * Documents dental hygiene services and dental histories; Document all services provided and refused in persons served dental/medical records * Maintains persons served confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential * Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations * Protects persons served and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols * Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques * Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results * Perform other duties as assigned.
