Lead Network Engineer
– Remote Job Description Responsibilities Design, setup and configure complex network environments Execute and maintain networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards Maximize network performance through proactive monitoring; troubleshooting network problems and outages; plan, document, and schedule upgrades and changes to network infrastructure; collaborates with network architects on network optimization, design, and implementation Assist in the design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, WINS, Ether-Channel (Bonding), etc.
Maintain multi-site network operations and software applications, operating systems and regular maintenance with both private and public facilities.
Evaluate and make improvements to the security of a network design Research and share knowledge about new technologies, security threats, and methodologies relevant to network engineering in a healthcare IT environment Required Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience At least 5 years of experience in Data Center network design and network fundamentals At least 3 years of experience designing, managing and/or assessing complex IT infrastructures Deep expertise in infrastructure, including firewalls, load balancing and networks Ability to provide technical leadership and guide a team of engineers Ability to “think big” and challenge conventional wisdom Excellent communication skills and experience working externally with customers and/or partners Excellent operational and delivery skills Preferred Experience with network systems equipment such as Palo Alto, Cisco and F5 Current network certifications such as CompTIA A Certification, CompTIA Network Certification, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Core Infrastructure, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – Routing and Switching or Cisco Certified Network Professional Level (CCNP) – Routing and Switching
