Software Developer in Test – Forward Advantage

Brief Summary:

Responsible for high-quality test automation solutions, selective manual testing, various analyses, and maintaining the infrastructure to run such tests including the Continuous Integration and Continuous Development tooling as part of our DevOps strategy.

  • Build and maintain robust, scalable, and high-quality test automation solutions for all types of testing including unit, integration, performance, regression, and security testing
  • Review Pull Requests and ask clarifying questions to determine areas of risk and an appropriate test plan to mitigate risks or observation of issues
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test specifications and plans for software products and releases, including definition of test cases and development of test procedures, to ensure software releases meet quality standards
  • Execute test specifications and plans in an accurate and timely manner and document and report test results according to established procedures
  • Participate in cross-functional and departmental team meetings to determine test requirements, ensuring all parties’ testing needs and goals are incorporated into test plans and specifications
  • Utilize defect reporting tools so that identified issues can be tracked, resolved and reported in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure concerns, problems, and system or process improvement suggestions are addressed with appropriate personnel.  
  • Provide support to other teams or team members as necessary to ensure productive and positive work environment
  • Review technical documentation and provide feedback to appropriate parties
  • Ensure all activities support the Forward Advantage mission statement
  • Other duties as assigned

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


  • 2+ years related experience and an undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent co
  • Ability to understand functional/technical specifications as well as perceive gaps or flaws
  • Ability to write code for scripted and automated test processes
  • Java or Kotlin, Objective-C or Swift, or Xamarin and C# experience with the adaptability to learn new technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and demands
  • Ability to handle frequent change in a dynamic environment



  • Experience with build systems and Continuous Integration a plus
  • Experience working in a healthcare-related setting is a plus

Work Environment:
