Engineering Inspector I (Deadline Extended 6-22-21)

Engineering inspector I is the entry level class in the Engineering Inspector series. Working under supervision, an incumbent inspects contract work performed by various trades and crafts engaged in the construction of municipal facilities such as streets, buildings, parking lots, bridges, culverts, sanitary sewer systems, lift stations, storm drainage systems, water main systems, irrigation canals, pipelines, street lighting and traffic signals, An Engineering Inspector I, after a minimum of a one (1) year of employment, and at the recommendation of the appointing authority, may be promoted to Engineering Inspector II. The current salary range for Engineering Inspector II is $5,370 – $6,472/mo.One vacancy exists in the Department of Public Works. Immediate and future vacancies will be filled from this eligible list for a period of six (6) months from the date the eligible list is created, with the option of extending that period at the City’s discretion. If the examination process is suspended for this recruitment, the eligible list may be limited to three (3) months.Pay,Benefits, & Work ScheduleUNIT 3 Classification – The Fresno City Employees Association, Inc. (Examples include: carpentry, plumbing, roofing, electrician, welding etc¿)If qualifying with education, a copy of degree or college transcript must be uploaded and included in your online application for verification of requirement. Candidates must achieve a passing score on the Written Examination to qualify for placement on the eligible list. The written examination is to be determined.Veteran Preference RegulationsCandidates applying for veteran’s preference are required to submit a copy of their DD214 with their application during the specified filing period. Evidence must be presented to indicate that the candidate was discharged honorably from the military service. Veterans, including City employees, must resubmit proof of honorable service for every examination for which veteran’s preference credit is requested.
