CAPSLO Mission, Vision and Core Values Position Summary: Provides general clerical support for Energy Department.

Interacts with public over the phone and in person.

Performs routine clerical tasks.

Responsibilities & Duties: 1.

Receives all incoming telephone calls; screens and directs each call in an efficient courteous manner to the appropriate person or program.

Transcribes telephone messages quickly and accurately; relays to appropriate person or program.

2.

Greets and directs all visitors to the appropriate person or program in a courteous and professional manner.

3.

Completes Energy Department client referral forms for weatherization, home repair and utility assistance.

4.

Researches and records client information using on-line data bases, spreadsheets and other computer programs.

5.

Performs repetitive clerical tasks involving filing, sorting, distribution, collating, typing, making up client files, etc.

6.

Sorts and distributes outgoing and incoming mail.

7.

Runs daily errands such as delivering mail to CAPSLO main office, as needed.

8.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements: Level I 1.

Must have High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

2.

Must have a minimum of three years related office management, clerical or receptionist experience.

Level II 1.

Must have High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

2.

Must have a minimum of five years related office management, clerical or receptionist experience.

Other Requirements: 1.

Must have basic computer experience, including knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing and internet.

2.

Must have a professional attitude; have a pleasant, courteous demeanor and use proper phone etiquette.

3.

Must have dependable, insured transportation and valid California Driver s license (mileage to be reimbursed) and acceptable driving record.

A DMV printout and proof of insurance will be required.

4.

Must be able to relate well to all people of the community regardless of color, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, disability or socio-economic level.

5.

Must use reasonable precautions in the performance of one s duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices; and act in such a manner as to assure at all times maximum safety to one s self, fellow employees, clients and children.

6.

Employment is contingent upon meeting all job requirements and background requirements: criminal history check, acknowledgement of child abuse reporting responsibility, criminal record statement, etc.

Employment is contingent upon receiving a clearance from appropriate authorities.

7.

Must understand, uphold, and continue working toward accomplishing the mission, strategic goals and performance measures of the agency.

Physical and Environmental Requirements: Position requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, twisting, bending.

Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

Simple grasping and hand manipulation required, as well as reaching above and below shoulder level.

Requires working indoors in temperature-controlled environment with some exposure to copier and printer chemicals/fumes.

Tools and Equipment Used: Computer, Copier, Fax Machine, Calculator, Telephone System, etc.
