Lvn Full Time, Part Time And Per Diem

This is a Full-time position in Fresno, CA posted June 18, 2021.


– The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)/Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) reports to the Program Director and will provide direct nursing support to the clients as well as education to the Treatment Team, to the clients, and to families of clients (as appropriate) in many areas, with special attention given to the role of psychotropic medications.

Salary depends on experience and additional language skill ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Psychiatric Technician as issued by the State of California.

Injection experience required
– 1 year current experience required Any combination of experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.

A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be: Supplemental college course work in behavioral or social sciences, and one year of experience performing duties comparable to a Mental Health Worker or related nursing experience.

Knowledge of basic concepts of mental illness and mental health including the physical, emotional and social needs of emotionally disturbed individuals.

Knowledge of fundamentals of psychiatric and mental health nursing care.

Knowledge of basic medical and psychiatric terminology.

Knowledge of principles and techniques involved in the care and treatment of individuals or groups of mentally ill, emotionally disturbed, or mentally retarded clients.

Knowledge of contra-indications, side effects and signs of medication complications.

Ability to apply routine psychiatric/medical nursing care to clients with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) and Dual-Diagnosis individuals Recognize symptoms indicative of adverse reactions.

Communicate effectively in written and spoken English.

Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish and/or Hmong is preferred.

Knowledge of record keeping procedures related to client charts.

Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Ability to operate within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

Possess a valid driver?s license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws.

Agency insurer authorization is required.

Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, general physical, and TB test.
